I know what your thinking…cool name huh. But man this band are something else live, and just listening to them makes you feel as if you have been smacked round the face by some skanking pleb in a moshpit. It’s a good feeling, in a weird sorta way.

The 5-
The album was produced by Pelle Gunerfeldt who is well renowned for working with The Hives and Refused. They are playing the lock up stage at Reading Festival this year, and I wouldn’t be surprised if their name will be up there with the likes of Gallows by the end of the year.
One track from the new album that’s really caught my ear is Running on Empty. The
track starts with a really vicious guitar riff, typical of the hardcore sound, but
evil in its own way. Lacey’s vocals kick in with a piercing scream, little bit Frank
carter-
The bridge has a wicked punky feel to it, and this is where we get a tasty little drum section, and catchy lyrics to match.
The chorus, if it is one, is pretty standard, but nonetheless it gives a good break to the relentless screaming for all those hardcore wimps out there.
The solo aint all that. Its not bad, but its not brilliant either. I guess solos in the hardcore world are not usually the most important part of the song, the lyrics, the riffs, and the aggression are more important than anything else.
Having said this, I think we can agree Ghost of A Thousand manage to fulfil all three of these hardcore essentials, and then some. If you like hardcore and you’re not afraid, you need to listen to some of this band a.s.a.p. If you don’t like hardcore, steer well clear, coz this is as hardcore as it gets.
